The time will eventually come whenever you will have a flat tire and be in a scenario in which you’re going to need to change that tire so that you are able to continue on your way. I firmly believe that every driver needs to know how you can safely use a car jack, regardless of what their age or regardless of whether they’re male or female. If a person is going to drive a car, then they need to know how to alter a flat tire. They may call for road service and might not need to change the tire, but they do have to know how.
Just before you ever lift a car having a jack for the purpose of changing a flat tire, you need to do numerous things:
1. Make sure that the car or truck is on level ground. If for some reason you have to use a jack on a slope, park as close to the edge of the road as achievable and turn the wheels toward the curb side of the road (NOT toward the road, but rather away from the road.)
2. Block the wheels. You shouldn’t ever jack up a car without initial blocking the wheels. There are commercially produced blocks, but anything can serve as a block. A piece of wood, a piece of metal, or even a rock.
3. Be particular that the gear shift is in Park.
four. Prior to you jack up the car, eliminate the hub cap if there’s one and loosen the lug nuts. You do not wish to be using force to break a lug nut loose although the vehicle is jacked up.
Okay, now you might be ready to jack the car or truck up. Location the jack under the part of the vehicle that you would like it to come in contact with. Look within your owner’s manual to decide the location where the jack wants to be.
That’s fairly a lot it. You remove the flat tire, replace it with the spare, and lower the car. Task completed safely!
